A pair of new restaurants near Millennium Park promise to bring a renewed energy to a once-ignored stretch of Michigan Avenue near the Art Institute of Chicago.

The recently opened Seven Lions, the second restaurant from Chicago master sommelier Alpana Singh, has been drawing crowds for its “modern interpretation of American clubhouse fare” and 250-bottle wine list. The sprawling 12,000-square-foot space in the landmark Peoples Gas Building at 120 S. Michigan Ave. is headed by executive chef Chris Curren, chef de cuisine Patrick Russ (previously of the Dawson and Next) and pastry chef Karianne Soulsby.
