Chef Delpha serves up delicious ‘Grilled Pizza’ in new cookbook

The summery secrets of one of America’s most famous restaurants flavor the pages of “Grilled Pizza the Right Way” (Page Street Publishing, 2015), the new cookbook from local chef, restaurateur and barbecue champion John Delpha.

“Grilled pizza is very near and dear to my heart,” said Delpha, who opened Somerville’s Rosebud American Kitchen last summer in a landmark Davis Square dining car. “It’s something I learned at my first cooking job at Al Forno.”

The 35-year-old landmark Providence restaurant is credited with inventing grilled pizza. The irregularly shaped pie, with crispy grill-marked dough and an array of mouthwatering toppings, generated international acclaim for the upscale Italian eatery.
