The N.C. Hospitality Education, the charitable arm of the N.C. Restaurant & Lodging Association, announced Nov. 4 that it has awarded more than $117,000 in scholarships and grants. The funds will go to students seeking a degree in the hospitality industry, teachers in North Carolina hospitality programs, and the children of hospitality workers. The scholarships and grants were awarded Nov. 2 during the Future of Hospitality Benefit at 1705 Prime in Raleigh.

"We are honored be able to help make career dreams come true for these bright students and dedicated educators," said Lynn D. Minges, president & CEO of the N.C. Restaurant & Lodging Association. "The hospitality industry comprises 11 percent of North Carolina's workforce, and offers good, well-paying jobs in all 100 counties. These teachers and students are the future of our industry, and we eagerly look forward to witnessing their accomplishments."
