My first and only experience in the restaurant business has been at Aya SofiaRestaurant in St. Louis. My husband,Mehmet Yildiz, had been in this industry for 15 years prior to the opening of Aya Sofiaand had always wanted to have his own Turkish restaurant. I was originally an architect and interior designer and was just going to “help out” by designing the space and assisting to get the restaurant off its feet.
