One of the most anticipated new restaurants opening in St. Louis this year — one of the most anticipated in the entire state — is the latest venture of Washington High School graduate Ben Strake, Class of 2004, and son of Susan and Steven Bierbaum, Labadie, and Robert Strake, West St. Louis County.
Byrd & Barrel, scheduled to open late next month on Cherokee Street in South St. Louis, will be what is called a “fast-casual” restaurant serving primarily chicken and beer.
