It was a food lover's paradise at Taste of the Nation Chicago, a culinary fundraiser to benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. Held at Navy Pier on Aug. 13, this annual tasting event attracted more than 1,200 people and featured nearly 100 of Chicago's top restaurants and mixologists.

Restaurateur R.J. Melman served as the chairman for the fifth year along with this year's co-chairs Ben Smock, Elissa Narow and Lauren Polkow. The benefit included notable chefs Thomas Rice and Kurt Guzowski (TETE Charcuterie), Stephanie Izard (Girl and the Goat), Doug Psaltis (RPM Italian, RPM Steak and others), Kevin Hickey (Bottlefork) and Tim Graham (Travelle). "This event brings together the best of the best. Everyone who means something to the city of Chicago culinarily are here," Melman said. "It raises so much money for a real problem in Illinois, which is 1 in 5 children are hungry."
