Chefs are a tough bunch.

Long, late hours, burns, cuts and repetitive stress injuries are just some of the frequent indignities suffered in a professional kitchen.

Still, it's a profession based on creativity and pleasing people. Most chefs will tell you making people happy is a large part of why they love what they do. And the physical demands, while significant, do not require a body-builder's physique.
